Painted paper collage is a method in which (for me) the process of painting is slowed down allowing more time for thought to enter into the process. Layers and layers of painted paper are built up. My imagery is derived from memories, dreams – all revolving around the domestic (domestic interiors as a symbol for women and feminine positioning within the domestic interior). The compositions are taken from my surroundings and borrowed from art historical references.
