| JUROR
|
Chakaia Booker is a sculptor who recycles tires and inner tubes to make large-scale works. Booker is the recipient of the Pollock-Krasner grant. Her work is included in the collection of the Bronx Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Newark Museum and the Studio Museum in Harlem, among others. Her work has been shown across the country and internationally. Booker works in Manhattan and Allentown, PA.

| ELIGIBILITY
|
This
exhibition is open to the international community of artists. All work entered must have been
completed within the last two years. All media are eligible (gallery
space permitting). Artists may submit work with special installation
requirements if the artist will be available to install.

ACCEPTANCE |
Work
accepted by slide review may be withdrawn from the exhibition at
the Juror's discretion. While this option is rarely exercised, it
is necessary to ensure the quality of the exhibition. No substitutions
of accepted works will be allowed. All accepted work must remain
in the gallery for the duration of the exhibit.

| AWARD
|
There will be a juror's award for best in show. The award winner will be featured in a solo show concurrently with the group exhibition.

ENTRY
PROCEDURE
|
|
Video artists should limit their submissions to a cued five-minute
presentation. All other judging will be done from 35 mm slides and CD's only
(jpegs or gifs files only, images should not exceed 1000 pixels in
any dimension, and 3000K maximum and must be identified properly). No photos please. If you will be using slides, mounts must be thin. No glass mounted slides or transparencies will be accepted. Slides must be in top-loading plastic slide
sheets.
Slides
must be labeled with name of artist, title, medium, year of
completion, dimensions and "top". Please number each slide to
correspond with the number on the entry form.
There
is a $30 non-refundable entry fee for up to 3 works, one slide
per work. (Exceptions are sculpture and installation which must
be represented by two views each at no additional cost.) If
you wish to enter additional slides, include $5 for each additional
work (two views for installation and sculpture.). There is a
limit of 7 slides per applicant. Please note: We can only
accept checks or money orders drawn on US Banks in US dollars
or a postal money order or American Express money order in US
dollars. VISA and MasterCard credit cards accepted. If you are using a credit card and the card is declined, your slides will not be viewed.
NO EXCEPTIONS.
Include
only the required materials (no resume, photos, brochures).

EVENT SCHEDULE

June 1:
Slide and CD entries are due.
JUNE 11: Notifications posted on the SOHO20
website.
July 10-14: All work due 12-6 pm.
July 17: Exhibition opens.
July 19: Opening Reception 5-7 pm.
AUGUST 13: Exhibition closes.
AUGUST 14/15: Work returned to artists.
Pickup for hand-delivered work 12pm to 6pm. |

| DELIVERY
|
All
work must be received ready for installation. Any unusual hardware
should be included. Video Artists are responsible for providing
and delivering their own equipment including video monitor. Work
should be packed in reusable containers. The gallery accepts no
responsibility for work not retrieved by the deadline and will
charge the artists $5.00 a day for storage. After 30 days the
gallery may discard the work.

LIABILITY |
Great
care will be taken with work, but artists are responsible for insuring
their own pieces as well as video equipment. SOHO20 will not be
responsible for loss or damage to any work or video equipment.

|
SALES |
A commission of 20% will be charged on all work sold through the exhibition. Work need not be for sale.
