Kathy Stark – Bio

Kathy Stark explores the use of repeated imagery in her paintings. She currently uses written text superimposed on various patterned backgrounds. Extensive travels and time spent living in Europe, Israel, New Mexico, New York City, and most recently rural Vermont have provided Kathy with experiences which she incorporates into her work. Kathy studied at the University of New Mexico, and in New York City, at the Art Students League, The New School, New York University, and the Printmaking Workshop. Her work is in numerous public and private collections. She exhibits regionally and nationally. In 2008 and 2010, she was the recipient of a Vermont Arts Council Grant and the winner of the N.A.W.A. Audrey Hope Shirk Award and the Francie Lieber Memorial Award.
