As part of the Rethinking Feminism series, SOHO20 presents a hands-on workshop for artists, aimed at safeguarding digital devices.

Trump and the new administration have turned the world upside down; it’s a scary time to be an activist and an artist. SOHO20’s Cryptoparty for Artists is here to help. Have questions about surveillance, about safe security for internet-ing, or simply what Signal is? Join Caroline Sinders and Harlo Holmes, and come learn about digital security. Bring any laptops, phones, or tablets that you would like to safeguard, plus something to take notes with!

Caroline Sinders is an artist and researcher with Wikimedia and a current project fellow resident with BuzzFeed and Eyebeam.

Harlo Holmes is the Director of Newsroom Digital Security at Freedom of the Press Foundation. She strives to help individual journalists in various media organizations become confident and effective in securing their communications within their newsrooms, with their sources, and with the public at large. She is a media scholar, software programmer, and activist; and contributes regularly to the open source mobile security collective The Guardian Project.
