Born in Tehran, Iran Afarin Rahmanifar emerged into one of the leading Persianpainters as she received her Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Connecticut in Storrs. Subsequently refining her own visual and conceptual work, her vision emerged from the intersecting points of the eastern and western culture.
Ms. Rahmanifar specializes in painting and mixed media as well as Persian miniature. Her work has been exhibited and privately collected nationally and internationally. She has exhibited extensively across the United State, at Mattatuck Museum CT, La poisson Rouge NYC, Sacred Heart University CT, Jacksonville University FL, Columbia University NY, University of California at Berkeley, University of Illinois at Carbondale, Stockton College NJ, Framingham State College MA, Boston University MA, Yale University CT, Gallery Ovissi CA, Barrette House gallery NY, Chattahoochee Valley Museum of Art GA, Gopalan Gallery IN, Fuller Museum MA, and Benton Museum CT.
Ms. Rahmanifar was formerly the Vice President of Connecticut Women's Artists. She is currently co-curated an exhibition at the AKUS Gallery CT, titled; "Chahar Ghesmat" "Iranian Women Create". Ms. Rahmanifar has been interviewed and featured on the cover of "Eastern Art Report" magazine of London UK. Ms. Rahmanifar was also featured in a documentary film directed by Carina Tautu and produced by Mattatuck Museum. The film was screened at Yale University, Mattatuck Museum, and La Poisson Rouge in NYC.
Afarin Rahmanifar has been the recipient of numerous awards and grants including professional development grants. Today Ms. Rahmanifar resides and works as a professional painter in Connecticut continuing her progression.
