statement

“I examine the walls in my mind, and build them in various media on boards, canvas, and paper. These barriers are of my own making and, as such, are illusions of safeguards, definitions of self, boundaries of possibilities and options. These illusionary walls are configured and reconfigured to be what I need them to be, symbolic of my mindset, but my work reminds me that there are ways around, over and through the obstacles I’ve built.” — Barbara Rehg
