In the Hands of Fate is my newest completed work, utilizes a piece of Black Trentino marble, millions of years old. The faces, printed on translucent silk, represent our human species, almost as shadows on an ancient wall of time. We all exist together, not complete masters of our own destinies, as the pandemic and current events make poignantly clear. We are all embraced In the Hands of Fate, doing what we can within the limits posed by society and politics. Compassion for each other is a fundamental way that we can keep acknowledging our own humanity, and finding our way forward.
