My encaustic painting evokes the haunting remnants of lives displaced by disaster, reflecting the devastation caused by environmental catastrophes that uproot countless individuals. Layers of molten wax, charred textures, and fragmented materials embody the tension between destruction and resilience. The fluidity of encaustic mirrors both the uncontrollable spread of disaster and the impermanence of home, while embedded traces of human presence quietly bear witness to loss.
