Progress is a portrait of Mother Nature embracing some of the animals who have gone, or are nearly extinct. This includes rhinos (white, sumatran, javan, greater one-horned and black rhinos), turtles (over half of the world's turtles are facing extinction, big cats (tigers, panters, cheetas, mountain lions, leopards), oryx, whales (more than 14 types) and dolphins and whales (including river, atlantic humpback, baiji, irrawaddy, ganges river, indus river, hector's and maui dolphins, plus north atlantic right whale, western gray whale, rice's whale, and blue whale), and over 36 butterflies. The painting is just a snapshot of many of earth's creatures destroyed by humans.
