Much of Leombruni's paintings tell the stories of her many experiences in the classroom over the years. They also explore adult relationships outside of the classroom, sometimes utilizing tropes in the form of children’s literature, myths, films, or portray stories as told to her by her students. She examines themes of hope, impulsivity, family, fantasy, innocence and coming of age. Her colors are powerful. Leombruni seeks to draw the viewer in, to elicit an emotional response. She asks for the viewer to determine: what is really going on here?
