The stark, dramatic images in the series The Waiting attempt to reframe the essentially mundane, in dynamic yet restrained tension with the mystical. Each piece has a distinct mood, conveyed in the colors and tones of its skyscape, and by the sharp geometry of its lines. There is a vague sense of loss, as we are only seeing a fraction of the totality. In my work, I continue to juxtapose themes of redemption and grace with man's metrics of power and status, through intentional appropriation of the banal and commonplace. Thus the world emerges; no longer ordinary, but witnessed.
