These pieces depict those moments in conversation when words dissolve into one another and we lose connection to what is being said. We pick up a few words or phrases but eventually lose grasp of the meaning, becoming ungrounded and no longer interested in following along.

This shift can lend itself to a feeling of overwhelming disconnect, not only from the conversation and the people around us, but ultimately the world. Our thoughts are capriciously unanchored; we’re in a state of disarray and everything around us becomes noise.
