Elizabeth Bisbing
Elizabeth Bisbing works primarily in painted paper collage but also creates drawings, collages, animations and videos. She has shown her work nationally and internationally in China in the Half the Sky: Intersections in Social Practice Art Cultural Exchange and Exhibition in Shenyang, China and in Italy in Stagioni a group show in Florence, Italy. In New York City where she lives and works, her artwork has been shown at galleries such as ABC NoRio, the Susan Eley gallery as well as non-profit spaces such as the Soho20 Gallery. She earned her BFA in painting from Moore College of Art & Design and her MFA from Vermont College of Fine Art. Her work is in many private collections as well as Rowan University’s Art Gallery permanent collection and The Fremantle Foundation for Foreign Artists in Tuscany.
I was thinking about the passage of time. Time spent on the everyday tasks i.e. washing dishes, cooking. Flowers are also symbolic of the passage of time - their fragile beauty is short-lived.
