Recently, while in Mexico City at El Sur artists residency, staring at a white stucco fireplace, I decided a color book was necessary. Using soft deckle edged 8 1/2" x 11" paper, I freely painted as much acrylic color onto these pages front and back as I could. I liked the wobbly fragility of the book, as the paper was not strong enough to stand up straight. For me, it was a sculpture which could be opened to any of the four pages.
