I am simply trying to find a new direction to go with my work—breaking away from collage and acrylics. This past summer I signed up for a class in Plein Air at the Cape School of Art in Provincetown with Mary Giammarino. The challenge was to capture the scene in front of us, being mindful of the 'light'—using only a palette knife and oils. The colors of 'light' were no problem for me, but the palette knife was! Eventually I was told I could use a brush. This is one of my better paintings from that week. Not great, but decent.
