When I think of the lives of women in every country I am always struck by the incredible complexity that they face. Their survival depends on their ability to navigate the wellbeing of their children and family, their work, their commitment to their community, to say nothing of their own private struggles. This picture of children's toys against a turbulent background reflects the tensions for families, especially mothers, in several countries around the world. The world around them is dangerous, often terrifying, but they must do their best to survive. The "blue planet" sports a leaf that is so hot it may burst into flames, thanks to the effects of Climate Change.
